Search Engine Optimisation London | Order
Report | Jargon Buster
Does your
UK website show up on Google's
first results page for
your chosen keywords?
The majority of surfers will choose the websites they visit, from the results
displayed on the first page of the search engine they are using.
If your website does not appear on a search engines first page, many potential
customers will not find you!
Check your ranking in Google by typing in the keywords that your customers
would use to find you. For example, if a potential customer looks for a
hotel in Wimbledon, London, they would often type the words
wimbledon hotels into
the search engine box.
If you use the above example of wimbledon
hotels, you will notice Wimbledon Visitor is a Number One
and Number Two hit in Google out of a total of 1,040,000 results
for the above two keywords. Test carried out on 1st February
2006.
If you are not happy with the search engine position for your website, our

Search Engine
Submission. We don't recommend
search engine submission. This is because these days the fastest
way for Google and other important search engines is to find your website
is via a link from another well ranked website.
We will be pleased to provide such a link (free of
charge) for up to two month from our sitemap (our sitemap passes
Google PR), to customers
purchasing our Search Engine Readiness Report. If your website
does require search engine optimisation work, we highly recommend you
take advantage of our free link after your
website has been optimised. Alternatively, if you advertise
with us you will benefit from a link to your website from your
advertisement.
Why outsource search engine optimisation to
us? Our record speaks for itself
and we encourage you to check what we have achieved for our customers in
the Wimbledon Business Directory. The following is just a small list
of our first page results on Google and Yahoo. This sample was taken
on 5th February 2005. We cannot guarantee that we will get your
website ranked on Google's first page. We can, however, tell you that a
website that has been properly optimised for search engines will always rank
well ahead of those websites where no care or thought has been given to search
engine optimisation. Here at Wimbledon Visitor we pride ourselves in
keeping up to date with current good practice in Search Engine Optimisation.
Please note that we will not, under any circumstances, upload files to
your server ourselves.

Search
Engine Optimisation or SEO
Alternative
spelling: Optimization
|
The
process of designing a website in a way that search engines are
easily able to spider content. For SEO strategy to be
successful, attention must be paid to correct html coding, clear
navigation (including checking that all links work), feature rich
website content and page title and keyword meta tags
that relate to the content of the page. The above list is
only a fraction of necessary attributes which need to be present
for good Search Engine Optimisation. Search Engine
Optimisation is most successful if
implemented at the start of the website design. |
Source
Code
|
When
a search engine spider visits a website, it doesn't see the site as
we do when surfing, but instead the spider reads the source code
behind the page. The source code is the language
(often html) used to construct the page. If you are using
Internet Explorer as your browser you can see this source code by
clicking "View" on the top left hand corner of your
browser and then clicking on "Source". If a web page
is constructed in such a way that a search engine spider cannot view
the source code and follow all the links in it, it is unlikely that the
website will achieve a good search engine ranking and it is even
more unlikely that such a site will be listed in the top 10 search
engine results. If you yourself are unable to see this source
code, it is likely that a search engine spider will not see it
either.
