Burst Water Main in Wimbledon SW19 on Sunday 3rd July 2016

Updated: Monday 11th July 2016. The water main has been repaired and Kingston Road is now open both ways.

Sunday 3rd July. On Sunday morning four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were dealing with a burst water main incident.

London Fire Brigade reported that their crews had finished dealing with this incident by midday Sunday, although Twitter posts from a local resident at 7:30pm on Sunday reported that homes in South Wimbledon, Colliers Wood and Tooting were still without water. Thames Water have further reported that water has been rerouted although it would take some time for pressure to build up.
