There are many bus and railway companies operating services in and around London.  Because of this we can only give out travel information of a very general nature.  For more detailed information you will need to visit the websites of the various travel companies and there is a list of web addresses at the end of this section.  Taxis and minicabs will operate throughout the festive period.                                 Read Disclaimer

Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24 December 2003

In general, all transport services will finish fairly early in the evening.

Christmas Day, Thursday 25 December 2003

In general, there will be no local or long distance bus, underground or overground train services throughout the UK.  There are a small number of exceptions such as the Heathrow Express and Gatwick Express. The Gatwick Express will run a bus services with journey times of 70 minutes.

Boxing Day, Friday 26 December 2003

In general, restricted services with no service on some routes.  Check with individual companies via links below.

New Year's Eve, Wednesday 31 December 2003

On New Year’s Eve Bus, Tube, DLR and Tramlink services will run all night.  Travel will be free of charge between 23:45 and 04:30.  Trams from Wimbledon towards Croydon will run every 30 minutes.

New Year's Day, Thursday 1 January 2004

In general, a restricted service available to most destinations.
