Sharpen their skills and encourage curiosity with dressing up, singing and storytelling holiday workshops, created by your favourite theatre for children.

Delve into a box of Polka props to see what you can find… a mask, puppet, hat, a ship in a bottle and so much more! A creative acting workshop for budding actors looking at developing short scenes inspired by Polka props and costumes.
Show off the scenes you’ve created at the end of the day to family and friends.

Sing a song with Polka
Wednesday 19th February 2020 Ages 6 to 8
Join Polka for this all singing, all dancing, all acting Musical Theatre workshop. Bring some favourite Polka songs to life from a number of our popular shows including; Chocolate Cake, The Everywhere Bear and The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me.
Share what has been created with family and friends at the end of the day.

‘Once upon a time…’ four magical words that will take you on a journey to the farthest reaches of your imagination. Bring in your treasured toy and join our storyteller on a magical story adventure.

Free “Once Upon A Time” Storytelling
Part of Small Size Days 2020. Saturday 1st February 2020
To celebrate Small size Days 2020, pop to Wimbledon Library and join Polka for a special free event to hear fantastical stories full of wonder and delight. This event is linked to National Storytelling Week, where numerous stories for all ages are told in, theatres, museums, schools, hospitals, spoken word venues, storytelling clubs and care homes. “Wherever the events take place, the web of stories will be spun with sufficient magic between the breath of the teller and the ear of the listener.”
Polka storyteller Kevin Graal will share his favourite tales and take you on a journey to the farthest reaches of your imagination. This is a family event and suitable for children from 3-7 years old.
History of Polka: Family Exhibition
Step into the magical world of Polka and explore forty years of magic-making in this fun, family-friendly exhibition. Interactive play stations and activities:
- Check out our Box Office of Wonders: can you spot the giant’s toothbrush?
- Mime and sing: Spin the wheel and guess the play
- Come up with plays’ titles and create your own stories
- Find out who you REALLY are
- See original Polka costumes, masks and puppets
The exhibition is fun for the whole family, designed especially for children aged 0-12 years
