Probit Electricians is an NICEIC Approved Contractor. The company is based in Sutton but has a large footprint. For example, recent jobs involved preparing a house in multiple occupation in Cricklewood to receive a new, three- phase supply and installing emergency lighting and a wireless fire alarm system in a large property in Eastbourne. Another installation of wireless fire alarms and emergency lights, in addition to all the electrical conversion work, was done in 4 adjacent town-houses that had been converted to multiple occupation. This was in Brentford.

Wireless fire alarm systems are gradually gaining acceptance from local authorities. Eastbourne and Hounslow (for Brentford) councils were extremely happy with the installed systems. The clients for whom the work was done saved hundreds of pounds by not needing extensive cabling to link the various components of the system. I invite those interested to allow us to carry out a free assessment of any properties where these alarms could be installed.
A whole range of domestic and commercial installations are carried out. Further recent examples include the installation and connection of three-phase machines at The Polish Bakery in North London, several complete domestic re-wires, and the design and construction of an innovative “light sculpture” based on a large suspended copper grid with golden globe lamps. This can be seen at Tuition House in Wimbledon.
Another contract involved supplying electricity to outbuildings, garden lights and fountains at a property in nearby Kingswood.
Of particular interest to landlords and letting agents will be the production of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
It is vitally important that older properties, especially those that are let out, have been inspected and tested by a competent person fully conversant with the requirements of BS7671:2008 Third Amendment (The Regulations).
A clean bill of health can be given or dangerous faults and departures from The Regulations identified and remedial work carried out so that the EICR can be issued. The issuing of the report automatically ensures compliance with The Regulations and therefore fulfills the legal obligations of the owners and agents towards their tenants. Peace of mind is assured.
We are not a massive company; most of the aforementioned jobs were carried out by the proprietor, Mr. Langley-Hart, and just one assistant. Having minimal overheads and not needing VAT registration enables us to carry out our work at extremely reasonable prices. Companies with large workforces and fleets of vehicles cannot offer the same value as we do.
